About us

Vasi is an independent print & digital magazine. We release every year in any random month as and when our entire team is satisfied with what we have put together, each issue featuring a single tribal community and allied subcultures. The magazine is paperback, comprising 120 perfectly bound pages.

We are a fellowship of wandering minds from a gamut of professions — writers, photographers, filmmakers, artists, lawyers and researchers, drawn not by destinations, but by a question that refuses to leave us: Who are we?

We travel the forgotten paths of India in search of the people who have quietly carried its oldest memories — tribes, vanishing traditions, and communities standing at the edge of disappearance. We tell their stories not for the crowd, but for those who still believe that listening is an act of preservation.

Every journey is an attempt to return — to the forests that shaped us, to the wisdom that modernity has left behind, and to the fragile threads that still bind people, culture, and nature together. If these voices are remembered, something of ourselves survives with them.

Mission

To explore with patience, listen deeply, and document India’s tribes, disappearing traditions, and vulnerable communities with honesty, dignity, and artistic integrity. We exist to preserve voices that are fading from public memory, create meaningful encounters between readers and the people behind these stories, and build an enduring archive that celebrates the cultural diversity and living heritage of the Indian subcontinent.

Vision

To give our readers a better understanding of our dependency on Earth and paving the way to bridge the gap between cultures around the world. We abide by our principles of publishing unbiased, raw, vital and bold content of the original voice of natives, respecting their conscious isolation, and discussing social issues of endangered communities.
