About Us

Our Mission
Our Vission
Vasi is a homegrown Indian magazine and we want to bring the slowly eroding stories and ways of life to the front. Think of this literary magazine as an attempt to archive the transient life and culture, poised at a risk of fast disappearing from our collective memory if we don’t recollect it enough.
Let’s be travellers in journey, and together remember to keep the stories alive.

Vasiis a Sanskrit word for inhabitant. We are all vasis of somewhere, carrying our ancestral tales of grandeur, struggles, wins and losses in our veins and memories. We are all about exploring people in all their glory – resilient people who hold onto their roots and cultures even though the world is changing rapidly around them. Be it the fabled tribes of the world we have not heard or know of, or folks who hide in the fabric of dense cities much like stars in the vast spaces of the universe – they glimmer so that cities become interesting.
We are an annual print-only magazine and we want to bring the slowly eroding stories and ways of life to the front. Imagined in 2016, this magazine serves as a platform for raw, unadulterated stories of human beings. It brings to light the experiences of indigenous peoples offering a vital and unfiltered glimpse into diverse cultures and perspectives through a unique blend of photography and storytelling.
